Holland America Line Launches 'Anniversary Sale'

Promotion in Honor of Upcoming Milestone 150th Birthday

Offer includes savings up to 45% off cruise fares, onboard credit and reduced deposits

SEATTLE, April 5, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- The 150th birthday celebrations continue for Holland America Line with an Anniversary Sale featuring cruise fare discounts, an onboard spending credit and reduced deposits on most summer 2023 through spring 2024 departures. The cruise line marks its sesquicentennial birthday April 18, 2023, and the company is commemorating the milestone with special sailings, offers and events.

Guests who book eligible cruises receive up to 45% off cruise-only fares with the Anniversary Sale, along with up to $150 onboard spending money per guest depending on stateroom category and length of sailing, and $150 reduced deposits. Bookings must be made by May 4, 2023, to take advantage of the offer.

"Holland America Line's 150th anniversary is an opportunity to show our guests how much we appreciate them, whether it's through special onboard activities or amazing offers like the Anniversary Sale that make cruising with us an even more valuable vacation," said Beth Bodensteiner, chief commercial officer, Holland America Line. The up to $150 per person onboard spending money for the first and second guests in a stateroom can be put toward a variety of experiences and amenities, including specialty dining, spa treatments, shore excursions, beverages, photographs, souvenirs and more.

With the Anniversary Sale, travelers can explore Alaska (Alaska Cruisetours are included), the Caribbean, Mexico, Northern Europe, Mediterranean, Panama Canal, Canada/New England, Hawaii, South Pacific, South America and Antarctica, Australia and New Zealand. The Anniversary Sale is not valid on Grand Voyages and itineraries four days or less.

The Anniversary Sale is combinable with Holland America Line's "Have It All" premium package and Kids Cruise Free promotion.

'Have It All' Premium Package
Guests can combine the Anniversary Sale with "Have It All" premium cruise fares, which include four high-value amenities: shore excursions, a Signature Beverage Package, specialty dining in Pinnacle Grill, Canaletto or Tamarind (depending on ship), and a Wi-Fi Surf Package to stay connected throughout the cruise.

Princess Cruises Adds Coveted Opportunity for Guests to Experience 2024 Total Eclipse

 Emerald Princess Guests Will Be Among the Few to View Last Major Total Solar Eclipse from North America until 2044

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (April 5, 2023) – Princess Cruises is altering an itinerary aboard Emerald Princess in April 2024 to give guests sailing the Mexican Riviera the rare opportunity to experience a complete solar eclipse at sea.

On Monday, April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse lasting as long as 4 minutes 28 seconds will be visible as the moon’s shadow is cast across parts of the North America, and a view at sea may very well offer one of the best vantage points. The total solar eclipse is one of the three remaining worldwide this decade, and the one visible from North America until 2044.

Princess has adjusted its 15-day ocean-to-ocean Panama Canal cruise aboard Emerald Princess after selling out the 10-Day Mexican Riviera cruise with Total Solar Eclipse on Discovery Princess. During the voyage departing Los Angeles on April 5, 2024 sailing to Ft. Lauderdale into the Mexican Riviera, through the Panama Canal and across the western Caribbean, the 3,080-passenger Emerald Princess will catch the total solar eclipse on April 8 between Cabo San Lucas and Huatulco, Mexico. The itinerary also includes stops in San Juan del Sur Costa Rica, Cartagena, Grand Cayman and Ft. Lauderdale and is on sale now with starting rates of $1,699 per person.

Guests will gather on the top decks and be given special glasses they can wear to safely view the eclipse as astronomy and space exploration enthusiast Fred Cink helps guide their viewing experience. Guests will also enjoy specially-themed drinks and bites during the coveted event.

New cruises include a spectacular 21-day roundtrip from Boston; private island Half Moon Cay remains centerpiece of Caribbean sailings

Seattle, Wash., March 30, 2023 — Holland America Line’s 2024-2025 Caribbean season opens for booking today, and the premium cruise line is continuing its trend of longer, more immersive cruise itineraries with the introduction of three new voyages that are 14 and 21 days. Also new for this season is adding Boston, Massachusetts, as a Caribbean departure port — in addition to Fort Lauderdale, Florida — and the return of calls at Bermuda.

The 2024-2025 season puts the spotlight on longer voyages, offering travelers more time in the Caribbean and the opportunity to visit more islands on one itinerary.

“Holland America Line is meeting the desire of our guests who want more immersive experiences, and we’re excited to offer new itineraries and a new departure option for this Caribbean season,” said Gus Antorcha, Holland America Line’s president. “With sailings covering the entire region and combinable itineraries up to 35 days, our Caribbean cruises extend to lesser-visited islands and are among the most diverse in the industry.”

Holland America Line’s Caribbean cruises sail from October 2024 through March 2025 and feature five- to 21-day options to the eastern, western and southern regions, including sailings that spend a day discovering the Panama Canal. Six Holland America Line ships will head to the Caribbean — including two Pinnacle Class ships — with the majority of itineraries roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale. Two of the new itineraries depart from Boston.

Nearly all itineraries feature Half Moon Cay, Holland America Line’s award-winning private island in the Bahamas boasting the finest beach in the Caribbean. On select itineraries, evening departures from Puerto Rico, Curaçao, St. Maarten and Aruba mean more time in port and the chance to experience the vibrant Caribbean nightlife.

Guests can cruise to the Caribbean aboard Eurodam, Nieuw Amsterdam, Nieuw Statendam, Rotterdam, Volendam and Zuiderdam.

New and Notable Longer Cruises:

New is a unique 21-Day “Perfect Caribbean Escape” cruise roundtrip from Boston aboard Zuiderdam. Departing Oct. 19, 2024, this extended tropical adventure includes a partial Panama Canal transit and a call at Bermuda. Following Bermuda, the ship makes its way to Half Moon Cay; Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos; Curaçao; Aruba; Cartagena, Colombia; Colon, Panama; Puerto Limon, Costa Rica;  Port Canaveral, Florida; and Bimini, Bahamas.

Following the 21-day roundtrip Boston cruise, Zuiderdam offers a new 14-day “Southern Caribbean” itinerary from Boston to Fort Lauderdale departing Nov. 9 that also includes a call at Bermuda. The ship then heads to St. Thomas, St. Maarten, St. Lucia, Barbados, Curaçao and Half Moon Cay. The 21- and 14-day departures can be combined to form a destination-rich 35-Day Collectors' Voyage for the ultimate Caribbean experience.

Another new 21-day Caribbean exploration sails roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale aboard Volendam. Departing Jan. 4, 2025, this in-depth “Ultimate Caribbean” journey deeply explores the area, with calls at Half Moon Cay; Amber Cove, Dominican Republic; San Juan, Puerto Rico; Tortola; St. Maarten; Antigua; Dominica; St. Lucia; Barbados; St. Vincent; Grenada; Bonaire; Aruba; Ocho Rios, Jamaica; and Grand Cayman.

Western Caribbean:

Holland America Line’s western Caribbean itineraries include six-, seven- and 10-day options. The seven-day cruise calls at Cozumel, Mexico; Half Moon Cay, Ocho Rios and Grand Cayman. The three 10-day itineraries span the region and are combination of ports that include Montego Bay or Falmouth, Jamaica; Mahogany Bay, Honduras; Belize City, Belize; Grandy Cayman, Cozumel, Half Moon Cay, and Bimini.

Eastern Caribbean:

The seven-day eastern Caribbean itinerary includes Grand Turk, St. Thomas, San Juan and Half Moon Cay. A longer 11-day “Eastern Caribbean Wayfarer” itinerary calls at St. Maarten, Antigua, St. Lucia, Dominica, St. Kitts, St. Thomas and Half Moon Cay.

Southern Caribbean:

In addition to the new Boston to Fort Lauderdale cruise, the southern Caribbean itineraries range from nine to 14 days. The nine-day cruise makes way to the ABC Islands of Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao before visiting Half Moon Cay, while the 10-day itinerary also adds Grand Turk and Amber Cove. The 14-day “Southern Caribbean Holiday” cruise departing Dec. 21, 2024, explores St. Thomas, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, Barbados, Grenada, Guadeloupe, St. Maarten, Puerto Rico and Half Moon Cay.

Tropical Caribbean:

Guests looking for a shorter getaway can embark on the five-day itinerary that visits Half Moon Cay and Amber Cove. The popular seven-day Tropical Caribbean returns with calls at Grand Turk, Amber Cove and Half Moon Cay.

Partial Panama Canal:

Guests looking to visit the Panama Canal without a coast-to-coast transit can embark on the 12-day “Panama Canal Sunfarer” itinerary. In addition to venturing around Panama Canal’s Gatun Lake and a partial transit, the itinerary includes Curaçao, Cartagena, Colon, Puerto Limon,  and Half Moon Cay.

Combine Back-to-Back Cruises for Longer Collectors’ Voyages
Many of the cruises can be extended into Collectors’ Voyages to create the ultimate Caribbean exploration with more economical fares than booking the cruises individually. Ranging from 14 to 35 days, these longer journeys combine nonrepeating, back-to-back itineraries, enabling guests to span more than one Caribbean region and enjoy the ultimate island-hopping journey.

Disney Cruise Line and Singapore Tourism Board to Bring Magical Cruise Vacations to Southeast Asia

Singapore, 29 March 2023 – Disney Cruise Line and Singapore Tourism Board today announced magical cruise vacations to Southeast Asia for the first time, revealed by Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro and Singapore’s Minister for Transport and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations, S. Iswaran.

Under a recently signed Memorandum of Understanding, Disney Cruise Line and Singapore Tourism Board agreed to collaborate to homeport a brand-new Disney cruise ship exclusively in Singapore for at least five years beginning in 2025. More details about the maiden voyage, itineraries and onboard experiences will be announced at a later date.

It is also expected to bring about significant spillover benefits for the wider economy. These include greater demand for port and ship-related services, as well as on-ground spending in Singapore for the lifestyle and hospitality sectors.

New York: Guests will have the chance to immerse themselves in the city that never sleeps. With a host of world-class museums and art galleries, guests have the exclusive opportunity to be led through the Museum of Modern Art on a private tour before opening hours by an expert art historian. Making the most of New York City’s Theatre District and the epicentre of the performing arts, guests will be invited to go behind the curtain on Broadway for an exclusive encounter with a Broadway star and a dazzling performance of musical favourites. A truly unique experience awaits during a forest bathing session in the heart of the city, where guests can immerse themselves into the Japanese practice of connecting to the unique energy of a place in nature.

Boston: In a city where the present merges seamlessly with the past, Boston will captivate guests with its array of iconic sites. A trip would not be complete without a visit to Fenway Park, before embarking on an enchanting afternoon of arts and academia at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, followed by an elegant traditional afternoon tea (with a New England twist), surrounded by the classic art and beauty of the 1895 Beaux Arts public library on Boston’s Copley Square.

Port Canaveral: From the port, guests can be taken to the Kennedy Space Center from where every American human space mission has been launched. As an unforgettable moment, a private encounter with a NASA astronaut will bring 21st-century space travel a step further into focus for Explora Journeys’ guests. From space to the sea, Cocoa Beach is the perfect place for guests to enjoy a two-hour surfing lesson. The beach bar on Cocoa Beach with its historic pier awaits post-lesson.

Portland: Known for its lighthouses, lobsters and beautiful beaches, guests can explore Portland with ease owing to its stylish and sophisticated atmosphere. With experiences centered around its iconic food and beer culture, guests can look forward to sailing on a lobster boat before tasting fresh seafood at the local seafood shops, browsing coffee houses, bakeries and award-winning restaurants of the old port. For wine lovers, a trip a local winery will offer the chance to taste wines and spirits crafted from local fruits and grains, deliciously reflecting the terroir of Maine.

Canada

Baie Comeau: Truly off-the-beaten-path and a paradise for all nature lovers, Explora Journeys has curated experiences that revolve around the natural landscape of Baie Comeau. On the tranquility of the St Lawrence River, guests can enjoy a sea kayak exploration on a double kayak where still and calm waters will heighten the appreciation of the surrounding landscape and wildlife. An expert guide will lead guests to marvel at the sight of whales breaching and sea birds overhead.

Charlottetown: A capital city set in small-town tradition will captivate guests with its charm and culture. Guests can discover the Ancient Sport of Falconry on the island that highlights the way UNESCO recognizes falconry as an 'Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity and how it contributes to increase the number of falcons in the region.' The 'Fair Isle Food Tour’ offers farm-to-table dining, where epicurean lovers can taste the best in modern Canadian cuisine from local chocolates to some of the best seafood chowders.

Gaspé: Explora Journeys has ensured that the city at the tip of the Gaspé Peninsula can be explored by guests to its fullest. Experiences include a Hike in the Forillon National Park as well as a sea excursion on the Gulf of St. Lawrence with Canada's Percé Rock, one of the most beautiful of the country's many national parks, as a backdrop.

Havre-Saint-Pierre: In a tiny seaside village in a remote corner of Quebec's North Shore, guests will be guided on a 90-minute walk embracing the sights of the Mignan Archipelago, known for its colossal limestone monoliths which rise from the hands of the sea that sculpted and scattered them between a string of more than 1,000 islands and islets.

La Baie (Saguenay): EXPLORA I will invite guests to dive into breathtaking nature at the heart of the river Saguenay with endless outdoor adventures. Guests can embark on a thrilling seaplane tour filled with aerial views of the area including Cap Éternité, a striking mountain and inspiration to painters, poets and writers. Other experiences include a VIP class with Chef Jonathan Grenon of triple-diamond award-winning Auberge des Battures, on how the bounty of nature feeds his culinary creations. Guests will be able to sample some of his delectable offerings served with local beers and spirits.

Quebec: Guests can delve deep into nature with a kayak excursion through a fjord. An evening and VIP tour at a sugar shack or ‘cabane à sucre’ will satisfy any sweet tooth. Guests will be welcomed into the maple museum and celebrate with a hearty harvest, gathering along overflowing festive tables.

Halifax: The vibrant, culture-filled capital of Nova Scotia offers guests the chance to indulge in its flourishing culinary scene. The scenic Lighthouse Route along the South Shore offers guests some free time to admire the iconic Peggy’s Point Lighthouse built in 1915 – one of the best-known and most-photographed lighthouses in Canada. This will be followed by a hearty lunch at the Shore Club in Hubbards, where succulent lobster will be paired with tasty salads and a selection of delicious desserts and refreshing drinks. Guests keen to tee off in style at one of the most beloved golf courses in Canada, The Links at Brunello, will have the chance to make their way around the 18 holes of the course, designed by the legendary Thomas McBroom who is renowned for careful integration of the landscape at every contour.

Explora Journeys Destination Experiences for North America are now open for bookings. EXPLORA I, the first of six planned ships of the luxury brand`s fleet, will be officially named on July 8, 2023 in Civitavecchia near Rome, Italy before heading to Southampton, UK to depart for her maiden journey on July 17, 2023.

Disney Cruise Line Announces Inaugural Sailings to New Island Destination, Family Vacations Around the World in Summer 2024

Disney Cruise Line’s newest Bahamian destination at Lighthouse Point to debut in June 2024

CELEBRATION, Fla. (March 23, 2023) – Disney Cruise Line announced today the inaugural dates and select itineraries for its new island destination in The Bahamas, headlining a season full of new and guest-favorite itineraries around the world in summer 2024. Along with the first sailings to Lighthouse Point, families will be able to choose magical vacations to bucket-list destinations that include the Mediterranean, northern Europe, Alaska and the Caribbean.

“We are delighted to take families to new places during the summer 2024 season, including our newest island destination at Lighthouse Point in The Bahamas,” said Sharon Siskie, senior vice president and general manager, Disney Cruise Line. “We’re also thrilled to return to Europe with new ports of call and offer exciting adventures to Alaska and the Caribbean. All of these Disney Cruise Line sailings provide the unique experiences that our guests have come to expect from Disney, from world-class dining and dazzling entertainment to character encounters and legendary guest service.”

First Sailings to Lighthouse Point

In June 2024, Disney Cruise Line will debut its newest Bahamian destination on the island of Eleuthera at Lighthouse Point. Guests sailing aboard the Disney Magic from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, will discover a vibrant beach retreat designed with families in mind, infused with the color and energy of Bahamian artistry, and developed with a commitment to conservation at its core.

A seven-night inaugural sailing aboard the Disney Fantasy from Port Canaveral, Florida, on June 8 will allow guests to be among the first to make a splash in the crystal-clear waters of this new destination at Lighthouse Point. This ultimate Disney Cruise Line island destination itinerary will feature two stops at Lighthouse Point and one day at Castaway Cay. On June 6, a three-night preview cruise on the Disney Magic from Fort Lauderdale will offer a sneak peek of Lighthouse Point with limited access to some areas.

Following the inaugural voyage, Lighthouse Point will be a featured port of call on select three-, four- and five-night sailings to The Bahamas and Caribbean on the Disney Magic out of Fort Lauderdale. These itineraries will vary stops between Lighthouse Point and Castaway Cay, with five special departures including both Disney Cruise Line island destinations.

New European Destinations

Dreams will come to life for Disney Cruise Line guests in summer 2024 as the Disney Dream returns to premier European destinations in the Mediterranean, Greek Isles, British Isles and popular locales in the Norwegian Fjords and Iceland.

These sailings will feature a number of new ports of call, including Valencia, Spain; Haugesund, Norway; and Hamburg, Germany, along with three Mediterranean destinations that will return for the first time since 2014: Catania, Italy; Kusadasi, Turkey; and Valletta, Malta.

Mediterranean and Greek Isles cruises from Barcelona and Civitavecchia (Rome) will range from five to 11 nights, while northern Europe and British Isles sailings will offer itineraries anywhere from three nights to one 12-night voyage that includes the Norwegian fjords, three days in Iceland and an overnight stay in Reykjavik.

Adventures in Alaska

Cruises to Alaska from Vancouver, Canada, will return on the Disney Wonder from May through September 2024, offering more chances for families to experience the natural splendor and adventure of “The Last Frontier” with five-, seven- and nine-night sailings. Majestic wildlife and stunning scenery in iconic places like Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan and glacier viewing along the Stikine Icecap will blend with Disney’s world-class entertainment, dining and guest service to create a family-friendly vacation that celebrates the spirit of Alaska both on land and on board.

Tropical Escapes to The Bahamas and Caribbean from Port Canaveral

The Disney Fantasy and Disney Wish will travel to sun-kissed islands throughout The Bahamas and Caribbean in summer 2024. All sailings on these Port Canaveral-based ships will feature a visit to Castaway Cay, a picturesque private island oasis in The Bahamas that offers something for everyone in the family, from fun and relaxation to adventurous water activities.

The Disney Wish will feature three- and four-night Bahamian vacations, while the Disney Fantasy will sail to popular ports in the eastern and western Caribbean on seven-night cruises. One five-night Disney Fantasy voyage in July will take families to Nassau with two stops in Castaway Cay, while a special 10-night southern Caribbean sailing will give families another opportunity to visit Lighthouse Point with additional visits to the islands of Antigua, St. Lucia, Dominica, Tortola and Castaway Cay.

AmaWaterways has extended its 2023 Portugal river cruising season, with 14 additional round-trip Porto sailings onboard AmaDouro. Majestic New Itineraries

AMAWATERWAYS ANNOUNCES NEW 2024 DATES FOR ‘SOULFUL EPICUREAN EXPERIENCE’ CRUISES

Leading River Cruise Company Unveils Three New Opportunities for Travelers

to Celebrate Black History and Culture Along the Rhône and Nile Rivers

CALABASAS, CA – (March 13, 2023) –Award-winning river cruise line AmaWaterways today announced three new opportunities for guests to celebrate the African and Black diaspora on the rivers in 2024. Due to the overwhelming demand for the first-ever Soulful Epicurean Experience on the Rhône River in France embarking August 24, 2023, two new June departure dates have been announced for that itinerary. The special journeys include the Colors of Provence cruise plus three nights in Paris. Also added for 2024 is a Soulful Epicurean Experience in Egypt on Secrets of Egypt & The Nile itinerary starting in Cairo on May 17, 2024. The unique experiences available during the cruise and land packages invite travelers to discover and celebrate important aspects of Black history and culture unique to each country.

“We are fortunate to work with many travel advisors in the Black community who advised and encouraged us to develop these special interest cruises celebrating Black history and culture,” said Kristin Karst, co-founder and executive vice president of AmaWaterways. “As our first Soulful Epicurean Experience cruise in France scheduled for 2023 sold out almost immediately, we are proud to give our global family additional opportunities in 2024 to celebrate and appreciate the diverse Black heritage found in France and Egypt.”

Secrets of Egypt & The Nile, Soulful Epicurean Experience

For the first time ever, AmaWaterways’ is pairing its Soulful Epicurean Experience with its fascinating 11-night Secrets of Egypt & The Nile river cruise and land package starting in Cairo on May 17, 2024. In addition to the seven-night river cruise onboard the splendid 72-passenger AmaDahlia, guests will enjoy three nights pre-cruise and one night post-cruise in Cairo.  

The seven-night river cruise onboard AmaDahlia sails roundtrip from Luxor visiting Edfu, Aswan, Esna, Kom Ombo, and Qena and includes daily immersive tours and onboard experiences that shine light on the country’s vast African history and its regional delicacies. Guests also have the one-of-a-kind opportunity to visit a Nubian Village and meet the wonderful people who continue to carry the traditions of their ancestors that once ruled Egypt.

Throughout the journey, guests will be delighted by the warm service and lineup of fascinating excursions offered each day.  The small group tours are guided by experienced Egyptologists and include visits to the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Valley of the Kings and Queens, Karnak and Luxor temples, as well as a papyrus making class. Travelers will gain access to authentic and exclusive experiences unique to AmaWaterways, such as a private lunch at the Abdeen Presidential Palace and a private tour of Queen Nefertari tomb.

Colors of Provence, Soulful Epicurean Experience

AmaWaterways’ Colors of Provence river cruise itinerary is set to welcome guests again in 2024 for the Soulful Epicurean Experience which will start or end (depending on the departure date) with a three-night land package in Paris, where many famous Black artists, writers and entertainers made history. While exploring the City of Light, travelers will dive deep into Black culture during a specially curated Josephine Baker excursion and a “Black History of Paris” city tour before embarking on the award-winning AmaKristina for an incredible seven-night journey through the South of France.

As AmaWaterways’ guests sail along the Rhône River between Lyon and Arles, they will enjoy a variety of experiences exclusive to this special itinerary that shine a light on Black heritage both onboard and ashore. The guided tours, including a full-day Black Heritage Tour in Marseille, showcase the region’s best jazz, food and wine so travelers can fully immerse themselves into the rich cultural history. These two unique Colors of Provence 10-night journeys will begin either in Arles on June 13, 2024 cruising to Lyon and finishing in Paris on June 23, 2024 or guests can start with the Paris land package on June 17, 2024 and conclude in Arles on June 27, 2024.

Both 2024 Soulful Epicurean Experience sailings offer authentic experiences and excursions that celebrate Black history and heritage. On top of the warm, personalized onboard service and locally influenced dining for which AmaWaterways is known, guests can look forward to enjoying nightly entertainment alongside like-minded guests who share a passion for discovering Black culture.

New Disney Cruise Line Island Destination at Lighthouse Point in The Bahamas to Welcome Guests in Summer 2024

One-of-a-kind island experience combines breathtaking natural beauty with the magic of Bahamian hospitality, storytelling and artistry

CELEBRATION, Fla. (March 9, 2023) — In summer 2024, Disney Cruise Line will welcome guests to a one-of-a-kind island destination at Lighthouse Point, located on the island of Eleuthera in The Bahamas, for the first time. Created in close collaboration with local artists and advisors, the vibrant island retreat will be a unique celebration of Bahamian culture brought to life with the quality and service of a Disney vacation.

“At Disney Cruise Line, we have a deep appreciation for the Bahamian community,” said Sharon Siskie, senior vice president and general manager, Disney Cruise Line. “We are connected in many ways, including our shared values of storytelling and hospitality. With the opening of Lighthouse Point, visitors from around the world will experience the magic of The Bahamas in a new way, one that truly celebrates its natural and cultural beauty.”

New details about Lighthouse Point reveal a relaxing beach escape designed with families in mind, infused with the color and energy of Bahamian artistry, and developed with a commitment to conservation at its core.

Uniquely Designed, Sustainably Developed

When guests arrive to Lighthouse Point, they’ll be greeted by distinctive, sweeping architecture in bright, saturated hues — a bold style inspired by nature and created in partnership with local artists.

The curvilinear buildings will at first appear as Bahamian shells scattered along the shoreline. Upon closer inspection, guests will discover artistic expressions of the native flora and fauna of The Bahamas and the pageantry and history of Junkanoo parades. Throughout the destination, references to playful folklore characters will evoke the warmth and charm of the local culture.

Respect for the environment is at the heart of the design. At least 90 percent of the destination’s electricity needs will be met by an onsite solar array, the pier was designed to avoid the need for dredging and elevated walkways will help limit impact on the landscape.

“Lighthouse Point is a place of extraordinary natural beauty, so our goal has always been to create designs that accentuate its qualities in an organic way,” said Kevin Thomas, creative director, Walt Disney Imagineering. “We’re focused on low-density, sustainable development that protects and preserves the environment, allowing the site’s biodiversity to shine.”

Fun and Relaxation for Everyone

At Lighthouse Point, families will enjoy a day of fun in the sun as they relax on pristine beaches, embark on active adventures and discover the magic of Bahamian storytelling alongside favorite Disney characters. Much like Disney’s cruise ships and private island of Castaway Cay, Lighthouse Point will offer activities and areas for every age group.

• Families can relax and play along white sandy beaches and turquoise waters at the expansive family beach on the east side of the island, which will be centrally located near market-style dining, recreation and other amenities.

• A Bahamian art and culture pavilion featuring special programs and local artists will provide visitors to Lighthouse Point opportunities to learn and celebrate the traditions and natural beauty of The Bahamas.

• A brightly-colored, interactive family water play area will include two slides, water drums, fountains and more, along with a dedicated space for toddlers.

• Additional recreational activities will be available for kids and kids-at-heart, including a covered gaming pavilion; a volleyball court and gaga ball pit; watercraft and bicycle rentals; nature trails for hiking and biking; and more.

• North of the family area will be an adult-exclusive beach — a glorious stretch of sun-drenched serenity complete with a dedicated dining area for convenient access to food and drinks throughout the day, plus six private cabanas available by reservation.

• Children ages 3 to 12 will splash and play at a themed kids’ club under the care of highly-trained Disney Cruise Line counselors. It will include a splash pad inspired by favorite undersea creatures from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “The Little Mermaid,” plenty of shade and a dedicated dining area.

• Set away from the activity of the main family area, a peaceful beach along the south-western shore will be lined with 20 premium family cabanas available to rent, including four double cabanas that accommodate larger groups and offer massage services.

• Visitors to Lighthouse Point will have the opportunity to be surrounded by the wonders of nature and get a glimpse into the efforts taking place to conserve wildlife and their unique island habitats.

• A collection of new Port Adventures developed in partnership with local tour operators will take guests beyond Lighthouse Point to explore the rich culture and breathtaking beauty of Eleuthera.

Disney’s new island destination is being thoughtfully designed to provide a hassle-free experience for families, including complimentary beach essentials (towels, chairs and umbrellas and lunch) and convenient tram transportation.

Lighthouse Point will open for guests on select sailings in summer 2024. Details on inaugural itineraries and additional information about signature entertainment, dining, retail and excursions will be released at a later date.
