Warmly recommended: The AIDA winter routes 2024/2025 - bookable now

There are many good reasons to plan the 2024/2025 winter vacation with AIDA right now. 380 to be exact, because so many new travel dates are bookable as of now. The sun destinations range from the Caribbean to the Far East and the Canary Islands. The cultural treasures of the Mediterranean or the natural beauties in the far north are also on the route program. When booking by April 30, 2024, guests can secure the cabin of their choice plus a hefty early-booker-plus discount.

Aruba, Jamaica... Travel to dream and dive away

Three AIDA ships will be stationed in the sunny dream destination of the Caribbean. The voyages of AIDAbella and AIDAluna depart from La Romana, Montego Bay or Fort-de-France on Martinique and sail on a wide variety of routes to the most beautiful Caribbean islands, Mexico, and Central America. AIDAluna takes its guests to the new port of Santa Marta in Colombia on every second Central American voyage. AIDAperla offers voyages to the ABC Islands from La Romana or Barbados, among others.

All winter escapees can make a note of two dates with AIDAmar: In December and January, it goes to the "Great Winter Break Caribbean" from Hamburg and back - quite comfortably and without a flight. AIDAmar spends New Year's Eve on Curacao.

One Night in Bangkok... Experience Asia intensively

Fascinating cultures, spectacular biodiversity and dream beaches in picture-perfect bays await guests on AIDAstella's four different itineraries. From Bangkok/Laem Chabang, for example, 14- and 21-day cruises take guests to Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, the Philippines, and Vietnam. The highlight: guests spend the turn of the year on the Christmas and New Year's Eve cruise in Singapore!

Thousand and One Nights... Orient between desert and skyscrapers

AIDAprima will travel to the Orient on two different routes from Dubai or Abu Dhabi. They lead to Muscat (Oman) and Doha (Qatar) or to the Kingdom of Bahrain and Sir Bani Yas. This wonderful beach destination offers numerous opportunities for relaxation after visiting the mega-cities: snorkeling, kayaking or relaxing on the beach. The 7-day trips can also be booked combined as 14-days.

Vamos a la Playa... To the Volcanic Islands in the Atlantic Ocean

Sunny beaches, wildly romantic volcanic landscapes, unique nature. The many facets of the Canary Islands make them one of the most popular vacation destinations in winter. AIDAcosma will offer cruises around the Canaries and to Madeira from November 2024 to April 2025. The 7-day cruises depart either from Gran Canaria or Tenerife.

AIDAblu offers two different 7-day Canary Islands routes from Gran Canaria, one of which scores points with a stop on the enchanting island of La Gomera and the other with a visit to the flower island of Madeira. There is a special play of colors in the sky at the turn of the year off Funchal, where guests can experience one of the most spectacular fireworks displays live and from the front row. In addition to the 7-day cruises, guests can also opt for the 9-, 12- or 14-day combinations.

Who looks for the completely large Kanaren time-out, can go with AIDAmar at the beginning and at the end of the winter season on "large winter break" starting from/ to Hamburg.

Off to the South... Eastern and Western Mediterranean Routes

The winter program is rounded off with cruises in the Mediterranean. AIDAdiva departs from Palma for 9- or 12-day cruises to Spain, Portugal, and the Canary Islands, or in seven days from Rome (Civitavecchia) to Italy and Malta.

On new 14-day voyages in the eastern Mediterranean with AIDAstella, guests visit the Greek islands, Cyprus, and Egypt. From Antalya, AIDAblu offers two new 7-day voyages. One route takes guests to Rhodes, Mykonos, Izmir, and fascinating Istanbul. The other route features Egypt (Port Said), Cyprus, Haifa, and Rhodes.

For Easter 2025, AIDAprima has wonderful voyages from Palma or Barcelona to Málaga, Cadiz and Cartagena. Longer layovers allow guests to experience the famous Semana Santa, the Holy Week with numerous processions. Easter Sunday the ship lies in Alicante. The trip can be booked as a 7- or 14-day variant.

Nordic by Nature... Northern Europe Routes

AIDAnova will spend the winter in Nordic climes and will be a guest on the Elbe from November 2024 to April 2025: From Hamburg, the program will alternate between voyages to the major cities and to Norway & Denmark. Whether Christmas shopping in London, Paris and Amsterdam or a visit to the Advent markets of Copenhagen or Oslo - a festive mood is ensured on shore leave as well as on board. The festive cruises are a very special highlight: Guests on board AIDAnova experience New Year's Eve and New Year's Day in Copenhagen. The 7-day voyages can be wonderfully combined into a two-week break.

AIDAsol will embark on a world cruise in October 2024. From October 27, 2024, the ship will set course for 41 ports in 17 countries on four continents and, as a highlight, six destinations on New Zealand. Guests can look forward to extraordinary places, unforgettable moments, and great emotions. From February 2025, three voyages "Winter in the far north" are on the program. From Hamburg, they will travel to the land of the polar lights and to a unique winter landscape.

Book smart: The advantages for early bookers

Booking the AIDA PREMIUM tariff offers up to 900 euros early booking plus discount for winter departures 2024/25 when booking until 30.04.2024. The contingent is limited and applies to the 1st and 2nd person in the cabin. Further advantages of the AIDA PREMIUM rate include the choice of the desired cabin, the AIDA Rail&Fly ticket valid throughout Germany, as well as two bottles of mineral water and a 250 MB Internet package on board every day.

Oceania Cruises Marks 20th Anniversary and the Launch of New Ship, Vista, with an Exclusive 20-Year-Old Small-Batch Cask of Whisky from Chapter 7

MIAMI, April 20, 2023 -- Oceania Cruises, the world's leading culinary- and destination-focused cruise line, is delighted to partner with multi-award-winning whisky brand Chapter 7 on the creation of an exclusive 20-year-old small-batch cask of whisky to celebrate the launch of its stunning new ship, Vista, and the brand's 20th anniversary.

Just 304 bottles of the whisky will be drawn and will be available for purchase by guests sailing on board Vista during her inaugural season this summer.

This exciting partnership comes as part of a long-term collaboration with Oceania Cruises and cruise retail market leader Harding+.

"We are excited about the immersive approach that Harding+ and Chapter 7 are bringing to the launch of Vista and the continuing celebrations of our 20th anniversary," said Frank A. Del Rio, President of Oceania Cruises. "The importance of guest understanding is at the heart of this partnership, and innovative, emotional approaches in telling our brand stories, which engage all the senses, are at the heart of Oceania Cruises."

Sebastian Harding, Director of Operations at Chapter 7 Whisky, added, "We are honored to bring our 20-year aged special cask to such a special occasion for Oceania Cruises. We believe a cask is like a character in a novel, where the best ones tug at the heartstrings and don't let go. We believe our 304 specially curated bottles can play just that role of character for Vista's guests, as they discover something special that perfectly complements their cruise experience."

The 1,200-guest ship caters to inquisitive travelers, food and wine connoisseurs and affluent individuals, and Harding+'s quaternity model of working balances the cruise ship profile with guest needs, brand fit and insights, as well as Harding+ retail knowledge.

Paul Cunningham, Director of Buying from Harding+, explained: "We always strive to make every cruise better and the storytelling behind the uniqueness of this one-off approach is sure to grab the attention of discerning guests in both the content and the channels we are using to bring things to life. We know Oceania Cruises guests are curious travelers and this premium approach fits the Vista story and style."

To celebrate the production of this one-off cask, Harding+ has produced a special film that tells the story of luxury, rarity and the creative passion behind the whisky-making process. The film brings to life the cask selection process and the journey that flows from that through to the bottling, the nosing and the palate test.

Holland America Line Marks 150th Anniversary in Rotterdam with Royalty, Citywide Fanfare and Dual-Ship Events

Holland America Line Marks 150th Anniversary in Rotterdam with Royalty, Citywide Fanfare and Dual-Ship Events

Rotterdam, Netherlands, April 18, 2023Holland America Line’s flagship Rotterdam arrived at the Port of Rotterdam, the Netherlands, this morning following a 150th Anniversary crossing that departed Fort Lauderdale, Florida, April 3. The ship’s arrival on the exact date of Holland America Line’s 150th birthday kicked off all-day celebrations that included royalty, local dignitaries, port officials and guests who commemorated the special day.

Holland America Line President Gus Antorcha was joined by Her Royal Highness Princess Margriet of the Netherlands, Rotterdam Mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb and descendants of Holland America Line’s original founders for a celebration at Hotel New York, home to Holland America Line’s original headquarters from 1901 to 1977.

“The celebration of 150 years is about more than our history, it’s about how we are building on the legacy of a great brand to make it relevant for the next 150 years,” said Antorcha. “From those first early days, we built our reputation on the care we provided to every person who stepped on board. And through the decades, whether that person was an immigrant, a titan of industry, a soldier or a vacationer, each of them was treated as though they were a guest in our own home. It is still a hallmark of our brand.

“The fabric of history is woven from the threads of millions of stories, and at the heart of each of those stories is a person,” Antorcha continued. “I am certain that there are many chapters still to be written. And I hope that decades from now, those who come after us will gather on this very spot at Hotel New York to share them.”

From the ship’s arrival through an overnight stay, memorable moments marked the milestone. Inside a room that once collected luggage for immigrants in the early 1900s, Holland America Line presented a commemorative 150th Anniversary bell to be permanently displayed at Hotel New York. Her Royal Highness Princess Margriet poured champagne over the bell, which is a Holland America Line tradition usually reserved for a new ship launch.

Holland America Line worked closely with PostNL, the postal office of the Netherlands, to design a collectable 150th Anniversary gold-foil stamp that was revealed by Bob van Ierland, director of mail, Netherlands, at the ceremony. The stamp, designed by Frank Janse, features an illustration of two iconic ships from the company's long history: Rotterdam VII, Holland America Line’s newest ship, and Rotterdam I, its first ship. The limited-edition stamp is available for purchase throughout the Netherlands.

In addition, members of one of Holland America Line’s founding families presented an original company share that will be kept as part of a special collection in the Rotterdam City Archives. Attendees at the Hotel New York ceremony included Holland America Line team members and more than 60 of the line’s top Mariners, guests who have sailed at least 1,400 days on the line’s ships.

Following a Gala dinner on board Rotterdam VII, Antorcha invited the ship’s guests to a party around the Lido Pool where he toasted to Holland America Line’s anniversary alongside ship’s Captain Bas van Dreumel and Mai Elmar, executive director of Cruise Port Rotterdam and the ship’s madrina.

“To the builders, architects, visionaries and explorers who have brought us to today. To our generations of crew who have seen our guests from shore to shore. And most importantly, to all of the passengers and guests who have trusted us along the way. Cheers to 150 years and many more to come,” toasted Antorcha.

As a finale to the evening’s events, the city of Rotterdam’s Erasmus Bridge was illuminated with a special light display honoring Holland America Line’s 150th Anniversary. Following the lighting of the bridge, Antorcha made his way to Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and joined Zuiderdam and Grand World Voyage guests around the Lido Pool to commemorate Holland America Line’s birthday. The additional nine ships in Holland America Line’s fleet also held anniversary parties on board for guests.

Hong Kong Returns to Its Position as Asia’s Cruise Hub with 160 ship calls from 16 cruise lines for Robust Restart of 2023 Cruise Season

Please note: some posts may contain affiliate links which means our team could earn money if you purchase products from our site

Hong Kong Returns to Its Position as Asia’s Cruise Hub with 160 ship calls from 16 cruise lines for Robust Restart of 2023 Cruise Season

Hong Kong (April 18, 2023) – The Hong Kong Tourism Board is seeing a strong comeback with international cruise ships berthing and homeporting in the city.  Since the beginning of 2023, Hong Kong has resecured the advantages that make it appealing for international cruise lines, including the restart of non-stop air from the US, signifying a full resumption of Hong Kong’s cruise scene and recognition as Asia’s cruise hub. Visitor arrivals in the first quarter of 2023 achieved about 30% of the average quarterly figure before the pandemic, according to the latest figures announced by Hong Kong Tourism Board.

“For the restart of the 2023 cruise season, Hong Kong secured over 160 ship calls from 16 globally recognized cruise lines. This recovery signifies tremendous confidence in the destination by the cruise industry and their guests seeking a return to a favorite destination they can enjoy by land and sea,” said Hong Kong Tourism Board’s MICE & Cruise General Manager, Kenneth Wong.

Silversea Cruises’ Silver Spirit sparked the start of the cruise season in Asia as the first international cruise line to return to Hong Kong in almost three years. “Hong Kong constitutes one of the most important ports in Asia for Silversea Cruises and our discerning guests, who appreciate the enriching experiences, the welcoming people, and the spectacular cityscape that awaits them on each call to the destination,” said Adam Radwanski, Silversea’s Managing Director, Asia Pacific.

The visits and deployments from Silversea Cruises, TUI Cruises and Hapag-Lloyd Cruises and the year-round homeporting of Resorts World Cruises highlight the city’s potential for accommodating a variety of cruise products, as well as the flight network’s availability for development of fly-cruise turnaround itineraries for short-haul and long-haul markets.

International airlines are driving visitors to Hong Kong with service resumption, including United Airlines’ nonstop service to and from Hong Kong, joining Cathay Pacific as the dominant air carriers from the U.S.

To accommodate the vast growth in aviation, the Hong Kong International Airport is implementing an expansion plan for the three-runway system which when the project is completed, will be able to handle 30 million more passengers a year by 2030.

Hong Kong has been a standout setting for cruise lines to develop new products and entice new clientele from the enormous Mainland market of 86 million people who zip in from cities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area via High Speed Rail and the iconic Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, the longest sea crossing in the world.

According to Wong, “Hong Kong is an amazing setting for cruise guests to fully explore the region during pre and post cruise stays.” New developments that await cruise passengers include the new Hong Kong Palace Museum in Hong Kong’s West Kowloon Cultural District, with a collection of more than 900 priceless treasures from the Palace Museum in Beijing, and M+, Asia’s first truly global museum of contemporary visual culture. The iconic Peak Tram with panoramic views from Victoria Peak has been given a makeover, with new sixth-generation tram cars and a renovated terminal with full-immersion video experience.

AMAWATERWAYS EXPLORES NEW WAYS TO ENHANCE SUSTAINABILITY

Please note: some posts may contain affiliate links which means our team could earn money if you purchase products from our site

AMAWATERWAYS EXPLORES NEW WAYS TO ENHANCE SUSTAINABILITY

Leading River Cruise Company Marks Earth Day By Announcing New Efforts to ‘’Invest in Our Planet’’

CALABASAS, Calif. – (April 18, 2023) Award-winning river cruise line, AmaWaterways, today shared details on its continued efforts to explore new tools designed to enhance the sustainability of river cruising by minimizing fuel consumption. As a leading industry innovator, AmaWaterways is committed to finding new ways to reduce its environmental footprint including the use of solar panels on board its ships, testing navigation assistance tools to optimize fuel consumption, the reduction of paper on board through MyAmaCruise app and tackling the important issue of food waste.

‘’Sustainability is the top and ever-present responsibility of every company in the travel industry,’’ said Rudi Schreiner, co-founder and president of AmaWaterways. ‘’Each of our ships and every itinerary we operate is thoughtfully designed to minimize fuel consumption but the impact we have on the local communities is also of utmost importance to us. We are currently building our two newest ships in Colombia and are proud to be working hand in hand with local architects, designers and suppliers to ensure we are not only properly incorporating and honoring this beautiful destinations’ natural resources and culture but also enhancing the lives of the local residents along the Magdalena River as many of these communities will be opening up to international visitors for the first time.”

In 2019, AmaWaterways’ AmaKristina, was the first river cruise ship in the industry to receive the prestigious Green Award which recognizes ships in Europe for their quality, safety and environmental performance. Since then, another 19 river cruise ships in AmaWaterways’ European fleet have earned the Green Award certification. This year, the innovative AmaMagna will welcome a brand-new feature: solar panels on the awnings of select staterooms which will reduce fuel consumption related to heating and cooling of staterooms. A new River Track Pilot navigation system is also being tested on several ships to further optimize fuel use based on riverbed configuration and current conditions. Additionally, AmaWaterways is tackling the growing concern on food waste and has replaced breakfast and lunch buffets with full service a la carte menus which is expected to reduce food waste by up to 30 percent, while providing a higher level of service for guests.

While operating sustainable, environmentally friendly ships is fundamental to AmaWaterways, both Zambezi Queen and AmaMagna go above and beyond with eco-friendly features. Zambezi Queen, which explores the Chobe River in Africa, uses a five-stage water purification plant, employing river water in the showers and tap aboard. The ship’s water jet propulsion system replaces a conventional system, ensuring there is no damage to the riverbed. Throughout the night, the ship operates on battery power and only the low-emission generators run throughout the day. AmaMagna operates on a 10-engine diesel/electronic hybrid system, a first for the river cruise industry, that allows for less fuel usage and reduces noise levels. Even though the revolutionary ship is twice the width of traditional river cruise ships, this new configuration of the engines is capable of reducing fuel consumption by up to 20 percent depending on river conditions.

Since its creation more than 20 years ago, AmaWaterways has always focused on connecting with the communities visited and making a positive impact through employment opportunities as well as using local service providers whenever possible. AmaWaterways is also the proud sponsor of the ODA Free Village English School in Siem Reap, Cambodia, established in 2011, as well as a financial support to Kliptown Youth Program in Johannesburg, South Africa, offering academic tutoring and arts programs to help enable local youth to rise out of poverty.

“From the design of our ships to the green measures we’ve taken on board and shoreside, AmaWaterways continues to explore new ways to enhance our efforts in sustainable tourism. It has always been essential to us to protect the waterways we sail upon and enhance the communities we visit through collaboration on developing tourism projects like our weekly Oktoberfest in Vilshofen, Germany or our exclusive wine event in Spitz, Austria,’’ said Kristin Karst, co-founder and executive vice-president of AmaWaterways. “We are proud of our Green Awards and we will keep building each new ship and itinerary with sustainability and community enrichment in mind.”

Holland America Line Names Winner in 150th Anniversary Poster Design Contest

Holland America Line Names Winner in 150th Anniversary Poster Design Contest

Winner Austin Thomas created a perfect reflection of the brand’s past and present

Seattle, Wash., April 11, 2023 — Seattle resident Austin Thomas was named the winner of Holland America Line’s 150th Anniversary poster contest. A panel of Holland America Line team members selected Thomas’ design for its colorful palette, nostalgic aesthetic and modernized interpretation of the brand.

Fans were asked to create a unique poster commemorating Holland America Line’s 150th Anniversary, paying homage to company’s historic advertorial posters. Thomas’ prize is a seven-day Alaska cruise for two in a balcony stateroom.

“Congratulations to Austin on creating a poster that stood out not only for its eye-catching design but also how it perfectly reflects both our past and the brand we are today,” said Kacy Cole, vice president of marketing and e-commerce, Holland America Line. “We received so many amazing posters that honored our milestone birthday, and it’s clear that our fans know our history. Thank you to everyone who entered.”

In addition to being featured on Holland America Line’s social media channels, the winning poster will be on display in Rotterdam cruise terminal April 18 and 19 as Holland America Line celebrates its 150th birthday.

When asked about his design inspiration, Thomas said: “It was amazing to me that because Holland America Line has been making international voyages for so long, it's impacting families in very different ways. I wanted to illustrate how excited a family immigrating to America in the 1800s might be to see a modern-day family able to travel and see the world for leisure. And vice versa. Holland America Line is still impacting families and giving them life-changing experiences 150 years later, but in a different way.”

Celebrations for Holland America Line’s 150th Anniversary began last October, and the poster contest was just one way the cruise line is marking the milestone. Additional commemorations have included two anniversary transatlantic crossings aboard Rotterdam, the launch of De Lijn Gin and a limited-edition Pilsner beer, menus that showcase Holland America Line's history with entrées reminiscent of dishes served as early as the 1920s, “Throwback Happy Hours” with prices as a low as 75 cents, a new partnership with The Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation, 150th Anniversary merchandise in the shipboard ships and more.

Travelers Can Explore Four Different Regions with Holland America Line’s 2024-2025 West Coast Cruises

Ships set sail for Hawaii, Mexico, Pacific Coast and through the Panama Canal with convenient roundtrip departures from San Diego and Vancouver

Seattle, Wash., April 10, 2023 — Holland America Line has opened cruise bookings for its 2024-2025 West Coast season from San Diego, California, and Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Sailings from these two North American homeports allow guests to see the world from their doorstep, without international air or by taking an easy flight from Canada.

Travelers can set out from the West Coast to explore the vibrant cultures of Mexico, Hawaii’s aloha spirit, the charming seaside escapes of the Pacific Coast and the famed Panama Canal on five ships across 42 cruises. Sailings are roundtrip from San Diego, roundtrip from Vancouver, or begin or end in either of the two ports.

“Holland America Line continues to cultivate our North America homeport cruises to offer a diverse range of destinations without the need for long-haul air,” said Beth Bodensteiner, Holland America Line’s chief commercial officer. “Our West Coast departures are a rich collection of close-to-home itineraries, and by offering the ability to book back-to-back cruises in different regions our guests can check off more of their must-do travel experiences in one vacation.”

COSTA EASTER CRUISES 2023: SPRING-SUMMER SEASON KICKS OFF

Please note: some posts may contain affiliate links which means our team could earn money if you purchase products from our site

COSTA EASTER CRUISES 2023: SPRING-SUMMER SEASON KICKS OFF

The Italian company is offering five Mediterranean cruises during the Easter holiday period. Big news then in spring-summer, with the return of the flagship Costa Toscana to the Mediterranean, the re-entry into service of Costa Diadema after major restyling work, and Costa Fortuna's itineraries between Greece and the Balearic Islands.

Genoa, 6 April 2023Costa Cruises takes the spotlight in the Easter holidays 2023. Over the next weekend, the Italian company is offering five different cruises in the western Mediterranean, including two one-week cruises with the flagships Costa Toscana and Costa Smeralda, two 5-day and 4-day mini-cruises with Costa Pacifica and Costa Fascinosa, and a two-week cruise on Costa Diadema, bound for the Canary Islands. Costa Firenze and Costa Favolosa will also be offering cruises in South America over the Easter period.

Costa Deliziosa, on the other hand, will be sailing on the final part of her Around the World cruise, with the evocative passage through the Panama Canal, while Costa Fortuna is completing her transatlantic cruise from South America to Italy.

On all Costa ships there is a dedicated programme to celebrate Easter on board, with special dishes and entertainment activities.

“Sales in the last three months have been robust. Ship occupancy is growing steadily, and summer programs are selling very quickly with a high demand for cabins. This is a very encouraging outlook, considering that our capacity in the Mediterranean has increased compared to 2019, while keeping our capacity in Northern Europe constant, thanks to the entry of new, state-of-the-art ships into the fleet in the last three years, such as Costa Toscana and Costa Smeralda” – said Mario Zanetti, President of Costa Cruises.

Costa's Easter cruises mark the start of the spring-summer 2023 season. Among the new proposals, there are the return of the flagship Costa Toscana to the Mediterranean, the re-entry into service of the Costa Diadema and the Costa Fortuna itineraries.

After a winter in the Arabian Gulf, Costa Toscana returned to the Mediterranean over the Easter holiday period, offering one-week cruises to Genoa, Marseille, Barcelona, Cagliari, Naples and Civitavecchia/Rome, joining the sister ship Costa Smeralda, already in the Mediterranean, which offers a one-week itinerary to Savona, Marseille, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca (Ibiza in summer), Palermo, and Civitavecchia/Rome.

The third Costa ship positioned in the western part of the Mediterranean is Costa Diadema. During the winter break, the ship underwent major renovation work, introducing new experiences to make the holiday on board even more unique. Such as the Archipelago restaurant, where guests can enjoy menus created exclusively for Costa by chefs Bruno Barbieri, Hélène Darroze and Ángel León; the Sushino at Costa, a sushi bistro by the sea, also featuring a lounge with live music; the Fiorentina Steak House, offering the best of Italian and international meats; the Sunset Bar, for an aperitif during "golden hour" on a seafront terrace; and a completely revamped Aperol Spritz bar. From Easter 2023, Costa Diadema will offer two-week cruises to the Canary Islands, followed, from 7 May, by a one-week itinerary with calls in Savona, Civitavecchia/Rome, Cagliari or Ajaccio (depending on departures), Palma de Mallorca, Valencia and Marseille.

From 13 April, Costa Fortuna, having completed the season in South America, will also return to the western Mediterranean. After a 3-day mini-cruise, she will start offering 14-day itineraries, first to Turkey and then to the Canary Islands. In the summer, the ship will offer a never-before-seen two-week itinerary, which will make it possible to visit the Greek and Balearic islands in a single holiday, with Savona, Civitavecchia/Rome, Messina, four magnificent islands in Greece, such as Crete (with a call in Heraklion), Rhodes, Mykonos, Santorini, Kefalonia (with a call in Argostoli), Palma de Mallorca, in the Balearic islands, and then Barcelona and Marseille.

Costa's offer in the Mediterranean will be completed by Costa Deliziosa, which will explore Marghera/Venice, Katakolon/Olympia (Greece), Mykonos (Greece) Santorini (Greece) and Bari, and Costa Pacifica, which will visit Taranto, Costa's new port of call, Catania, Malta, Mykonos and Santorini. CARNIVAL CRUISE LINE GETS READY FOR BUSY ALASKA SEASON

Carnival Luminosa to Sail from U.S. for First Time, Joining Three-Ship Deployment

MIAMI, April 6, 2023 – Building on the success of its 2022 Alaska season, Carnival Cruise Line is gearing up to launch another three-ship deployment that will sail 49 Alaskan cruises this year. This season, Carnival is introducing new experiences to its popular array of shore excursions and preparing to welcome one of its newest additions to the fleet, Carnival Luminosa, into U.S. waters for the first time.

Carnival Miracle will kick off Carnival’s Alaska season on April 23, 2023, from Long Beach, Calif. for a 14-day journey and will then operate from her seasonal homeport of San Francisco, Calif. with 10-day cruises that feature visits to Prince Rupert, B.C., a new destination this season. In Seattle, Wash., Carnival Spirit’s first departure is set for May 2, 2023, and then Carnival Luminosa joins to complete the season’s start on May 4, 2023. Carnival will operate six-, seven- and eight-day sailings from the Port of Seattle. Destinations during these voyages include the popular ports of Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan, as well as Victoria, B.C., and cruising Tracy Arm Fjord.

Ahead of her arrival in Seattle, Carnival Luminosa will take guests on a 23-day Carnival Journeys cruise from Brisbane, Australia, where she has been homeporting since joining the fleet in November 2022. Guests sailing on Carnival Luminosa from Seattle will experience many unique features the ship brings to the Carnival fleet, such as a Cloud 9 Spa spanning two decks with one of the fleet’s most expansive thermal areas. After joining from sister-brand Costa Cruises last year, the ship underwent several enhancements. Like her sisters Carnival Spirit and Carnival Miracle, the ship also features a sky dome over the pool deck, allowing the area to be enjoyed no matter the weather.

“I can’t wait to welcome our guests on board our stunning Carnival Luminosa, as she joins her beautiful sisters, Carnival Spirit and Carnival Miracle, for this year’s Alaska season. There’s no better way to see the awe-inspiring natural wonder of Alaska than by cruise ship, and we anticipate making that happen for more than 100,000 guests this year,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. “This season’s start is a good reminder that it’s not too early to plan for next year.”

Carnival has seen an extraordinary response for the upcoming season, and Alaskan sailings for next year are currently open for sale as well. In 2024, in between two spectacular transpacific cruises that feature visits to Japan and Hawaii, Carnival Luminosa will again join Carnival Spirit to homeport in Seattle, operating seven-, eight- and 14-day sailings, and Carnival Miracle will return to San Francisco, Calif., where 10- and 11-day cruises are available. The three ships will sail 53 cruises during the 2024 season, which will make it Carnival’s largest-ever Alaska deployment. To see Alaska cruises currently open for sale, visit Carnival.com.

Pack a Sense of Adventure and Be Immersed in Alaska’s Beauty
Each destination across every Alaskan itinerary offers several opportunities for guests to experience breathtaking scenery, rich culture, and deep history found on shore. From whale watching in Juneau to ziplining in Skagway, Carnival curates the best local experiences so guests can easily choose the perfect excursion. This season, Carnival is introducing two new excursions for Carnival Miracle cruises visiting Prince Rupert, B.C., which include:

  • Khutzeymatten Grizzly Bear Expedition: Guests will board a 72-foot catamaran designed for wildlife viewing for a full-day adventure through towering cliffs, dense forests and a thriving estuary ecosystem. They will gently glide through Canada’s only grizzly bear sanctuary, which is home to more than 50 grizzly bears, for an excellent chance at sightings.

  • Exchamsiks Exploration: Guests will experience the beauty of British Columbia's temperate rainforest and bountiful rivers by jet boat as well as on foot and enjoy a meal of fresh wild local salmon cooked over a campfire and served beneath 4,000-foot cliffs.

The new excursions join a wide range of offerings guests enjoy while visiting popular Alaskan ports, including:

  • Juneau: Sailing on an Alaskan-built, high-speed expedition vessel, the Mendenhall Glacier and Wildlife Quest offers an incomparable opportunity to see humpback whales, orcas, sea lions, porpoises, seals, eagles and a guided tour through the famous Mendenhall Glacier.

  • Skagway: The Ultimate Yukon and White Pass Railroad Adventure takes guests aboard a motor coach to marvel at the picturesque Yukon River, its adjoining chain of lakes and the rustic town of Caribou as they hear tales of the Klondike Gold Rush narrated by their guide.

  • Ketchikan: See – and taste – much of what makes Alaska unique at the Great Alaskan Lumberjack Show, Crab Feast and Drinks, which offers guests a chance to watch Alaskan lumberjacks compete. A sightseeing tour and a Dungeness crab dinner follows while guests enjoy the dramatic mountain, forest and coastal scenery surrounding them.

Bring More Fun to The Last Frontier and Join Special Activities for Kids and Families
Carnival cruises to Alaska feature Alaska-specific programming geared toward children and families. From the Great Alaskan Deck Party to a digital scavenger hunt that helps guests of all ages collect snapshots of the best sights along their cruise, Carnival offers something for all age groups designed to enhance connection and engagement with the momentous experience of an Alaskan sailing. Some of the fun activities and memorable learning opportunities created specifically for voyages to Alaska include:

  • Wildlife, Nature and Culture: Local naturalists visit Camp Ocean to give an overview of Alaskan wildlife. In Club O2 and Circle C, teens will learn how best to photograph beautiful Alaskan scenery and have their questions about native wildlife answered by experts. Additionally, kids and teens can learn to square dance and express their creative side with crafts.

  • Family Ice Fishing Challenge: Everyone in the family can imagine life as an ice fisher – but instead of trout, each team fishes for points in a game that’s fun for all ages.

  • Family Lumberjack Challenge: Guests can join a fun competition to find out who in their family might make the best lumberjack.

Each of the three ships deployed to Alaska this season carry approximately 2,200 guests and feature many guest-favorite Carnival venues, including Alchemy Bar, Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse and RedFrog Rum Bar. Guests will also enjoy entertainment offerings that include Playlist Productions, Piano Bar 88 and The Punchliner Comedy Club.

Princess Cruises Announces New Winemaker Dinner with Caymus Vineyards

New Experience Perfectly Pairs World-Famous Wines with Gourmet Fare, Offered Fleetwide

SANTA CLARITA, Calif., April 3, 2023 -- Caymus Vineyards and Cabernet Sauvignon are synonymous with wine enthusiasts globally as one of the most sought-after wines to pour and share around the table for special celebrations. Now Princess Cruises is working with this renowned winery to offer the exclusive Caymus Vineyards Winemaker Dinner, available on Princess ships sailing North America itineraries by the end of April, including all Alaska voyages, and across all ships worldwide by late May.

Available in the popular Crown Grill specialty restaurant for $140 per person, the new Winemaker Dinner leverages the expansive expertise of Chuck Wagner, owner and winemaker of the renowned Napa Valley's Caymus Vineyards, to deliver a five-course menu (see below), crafted to complement the tasting notes of his wines.

The dinner, available for 12 guests per seating, will be offered 2-3 times per cruise, based on voyage length, and interested guests can reserve their spot once on board.

"Our new Caymus Vineyards Winemaker Dinner further elevates the Princess culinary experience and wonderfully showcases the elegance of cruising," said Sami Kohen, Princess vice president of food and beverage. "Our passionate culinary team and Chuck have curated what promises to deliver a deliciously memorable and tantalizing experience that will have our guests talking long after the last course and glass of wine are served."

Wagner, along with the Princess culinary team, personally selected the wines paired with the multi-course menu served. In addition to Caymus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, he has perfectly matched up the dinner courses with varietals from the family's other offerings, including Caymus-Suisun 'The Walking Fool' Red Blend, Mer Soleil Reserve Chardonnay, Sea Sun Pinot Noir and Emmolo Sparkling.

"We have an appreciation for family, friends, delicious food and great wine, along with the many connections between them," said Chuck Wagner, Caymus Vineyards owner and winemaker. "We love how Princess also recognizes that cruise travel fosters deeper relationships with its guests and the destinations they visit by sharing experiences around the table, and we're thrilled to pour our wines and share our passion through a specially curated dinner with this beloved cruise line."

Caymus is a hands-on family affair which Wagner founded in 1972, alongside his late parents, when he was just 19 years old. After 50 harvests, he continues to make two renowned Cabernet Sauvignons -  Caymus Napa Valley and Caymus Special Selection.

Chuck now works alongside two of his children, Charlie and Jenny, and the family also makes diverse wines from Napa Valley, other parts of California and beyond. Wagner is widely recognized for his winemaking and industry leadership, and all three Wagners continue to experiment with farming and winemaking, continuing the family legacy and commitment to excellence.

In addition to the new dinner, Caymus Vineyards is also working with Princess on a refreshed wine menu, and Caymus Vineyards will be the curator for the cruise line's Crown Grill steakhouse, chops and seafood specialty restaurant, with wine pairing recommendations on the menu. Coming later this year, guests will have the opportunity to visit Caymus Vineyards in Rutherford, Napa Valley, and Caymus-Suisun Winery in Suisun Valley, Calif., on exclusive shore excursions offered on various California-based cruises.

SILVERSEA® COLLABORATES WITH WORLD-RENOWNED MIRAZUR RESTAURANTTO UNLOCK EXCLUSIVE S.A.L.T. EXPERIENCE ON THE FRENCH RIVIERA

SILVERSEA® COLLABORATES WITH WORLD-RENOWNED MIRAZUR RESTAURANT

TO UNLOCK EXCLUSIVE S.A.L.T. EXPERIENCE ON THE FRENCH RIVIERA

Part of a unique collaboration, Silversea’s guests can enjoy an immersive culinary experience in Menton,

hosted by chefs, bakers and gardeners of Mirazurranked as the world’s best restaurant in 2019

(Monaco – April 6, 2023) Silversea Cruises®, the leading ultra-luxury cruise line, has formed a unique collaboration with the three Michelin-starred restaurant Mirazur—headed by one of the world’s most celebrated chefs, Chef Mauro Colagreco—to offer guests an immersive new culinary experience on the French Riviera. Curated as part of Silversea’s S.A.L.T. culinary programme, the experience will take the cruise line’s guests closer to the authentic heart of French culinary traditions in Menton, one of the Mediterranean’s most beautiful towns, as they learn more about Mirazur’s unique concept. Tailor-made for Silversea’s guests, the bespoke shore experience is Mirazur’s only collaboration with a cruise line. It will be available during calls to Menton and Monte Carlo in summer 2023 and summer 2024—offered to guests sailing aboard Silver Moon, Silver Dawn®, and, once launched, new ships Silver Nova and Silver Ray℠.

“I’ve long admired Mauro Colagreco’s talent, passion and creativity. With his world-class team of farmers, purveyors, bakers and chefs, Mauro has created both a unique expression of coastal Mediterranean cuisine as well as a beautiful vision of what an ethical restaurant ecosystem could be. I couldn’t be happier to collaborate with them to be able to share the Mirazur story and experience with the guests of our S.A.L.T. programme. The response we have received to this unique initiative demonstrates our guests’ interest in tailor-made, exclusive experiences. Beyond just an opportunity to dine at one of the world’s best restaurants, our Mirazur experience will form truly meaningful connections between our guests and the cuisine and culture of the region,” said Adam Sachs, Director of Silversea’s S.A.L.T. programme.

“I like to say that Mirazur is much more than a restaurant. It is a complex ecosystem in which many cultures, visions, and talents are moving in the same direction, with the same values and respect for nature. We are so glad to have the chance to allow Silversea’s guests to discover this complexity, opening the doors of our tasting kitchen to immerse travellers into the unique craft of Mirazur and to explore the link between humans and nature on the French Riviera,” said Chef Mauro Colagreco.

Complementing destination-specific culinary enrichments offered on board as part of the S.A.L.T. programme, as well as a selection of immersive shore excursions, Silversea’s unique collaboration with Mirazur provides a deep-dive into local food and drink culture and will include the following:

  • Hosted by Mirazur’s talented chefs, bakers, and gardeners, the immersive experience begins with a trip to the market in Menton’s old town, where Mirazur’s suppliers will introduce guests to the regional food culture, as well as the local produce—from fresh, seasonal vegetables to distinctive cheeses. A member of the Mirazur team will guide small groups of up to 12 guests through the market, sharing insight and context, and explaining more about the distinguishing approach of one of the world’s best restaurants.

  • Next, travellers will visit Chef Mauro Colagreco’s sustainable and artisanal bakery, Mitron, where they will learn about ancient grains and taste a range of traditionally baked breads and pastries—produced sustainably through certified organic agriculture. Guests will visit the bake house, which contains Menton’s oldest wood oven, to meet the expert artisanal bakers, and to see first-hand how different varieties of wheat are milled daily to preserve freshness and flavour.

  • Guests will learn about the research being undertaken at the Sanctuaries del Mirazur, five biodynamic vegetable gardens at varying altitudes—from the sea to the mountains—that are owned by the restaurant. Here, nestled between Monte Carlo and the Italian border, teams of gardeners study the best conditions for 39 tomato varieties, Menton’s famous lemons, and various vegetables. The crops yielded by the gardens form the basis of the cuisine at Mirazur, which celebrates the myriad diversity of the region’s cuisine.

  • The experience concludes with a nine-course tasting menu in Mirazur’s private tasting kitchen—a unique, tailor-made culinary experience that is inspired by the French Riviera and Chef Colagreco’s Italo-Argentine heritage, passion, and vision. Participants will travel on a well-defined sensory journey that is centered on bold dishes primarily sourced from the Mirazur gardens, as well as seafood, fresh from the Mediterranean Sea below, that varies according to the season. Silversea’s guests will be among a limited group who have sampled Chef Colagreco’s inimitable culinary concepts in the scenic setting of the world-famous, three Michelin-starred Mirazur restaurant.

S.A.L.T., an acronym of Sea and Land Taste, is Silversea’s innovative culinary enrichment programme, which enables guests to travel deeper through a range of destination-focused gastronomic experiences—both on board and ashore. As part of the S.A.L.T. programme, three venues on board Silver Moon and Silver Dawn unlock immersive culinary experiences for guests, forming a hub of culinary discovery. Among the largest of eight restaurants aboard each ship, S.A.L.T. Kitchen is the first large-scale regional restaurant aboard a luxury cruise ship, offering a menu that changes with the destination and a regionally inspired wine list. S.A.L.T. Lab is a test kitchen that enables guests to learn about local ingredients and artisanal techniques, through insightful workshops, tastings, and demonstrations. S.A.L.T. Bar allows guests to sample the most authentic flavours of the destination, with a large selection of regional wines, spirits, cocktails, and other drinks. A range of curated experiences ashore complements the offering, enabling guests to gain first-hand experience of local culinary cultures. Silversea’s two Nova class ships, Silver Nova and Silver Ray, will also offer guests S.A.L.T. enrichments.
